Summary The clinical and histological findings of 8 cases of Mondor's phlebitis of the penis have been studied. The condition affects the subcutaneous veins of the penile shaft which have a relatively straight course with little surrounding support. It is concluded that the cord‐like thickening results from occlusion of the vein wall which is accompanied by a prominent proliferative fibrous stromal reaction.
