Atopic dermatitis represents an inflammatory skin disorder which has been well known since the beginning of the century [57]. The manifestations of the disease have attracted the interest of many biomedical disciplines. The management of the patients, however, is still a challenge. Even in 1994 conventional treatment remains the therapeutic basis. As late as 1980, diagnostic guidelines delineating clinical populations for investigative studies were first established [19].
