Summary. We report a case of spontaneous remission of lymphoid blast crisis in chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML) which returned to chronic phase, without the use of cytostatic chemotherapy. following an episode of viral infection and blood transfusion. Although complete remissions of acute leukaemia have been described, this evolution is extremely rare and has never been reported in CML blast crisis. The role of hypothetical factors leading to such a rare event are briefly discussed.
