SUMMARY Neutrophils with ring‐shaped nuclei were found in 12 out of 28 patients with myeloproliferative disease and only rarely in patients with toxaemic granulocytosis and in healthy controls. Nuclear ring formation and hyposegmentation appeared to be significantly related.
