S ummary . Cytochemical and serological properties of the erythroid cells of a patient with a congenital dyserythropoietic anaemia, type III, are analysed. Especially striking was the great spread in DNA content per normoblast nucleus. The red cells of the patient were much more readily agglutinated by anti‐i sera than normal cells. Absorption of anti‐I and anti‐i antibodies by the patient's red cells was increased, and there was increased lysis by these antibodies.
