Summary: A simplified method for the assay of serum vitamin B 12 by isotopedilution is described. Results obtained by this method correlated well with those obtained by microbiological assay using Lactobacillus leichmannii ; reproducibility was of the same order and the range of values obtained in normal subjects fell within the accepted range. There was no difficulty in detecting clinical vitamin B 12 deficiency.
