Fibrinogen has been extracted from well‐washed platelets. On treatment with thrombin it forms fibrin which when negatively stained and examined in the electron microscope shows exactly the same complex band structure as that found in plasma fibrin. It is concluded that since the fibrins are indistinguishable, platelet and plasma fibrinogen are unlikely to be structurally different.
