SUMMARY A substance capable of inhibiting ADP‐induced and thrombin‐induced aggregation of human platelets in vitro has been found in saliva of D. rotundus. This substance does not act on ADP directly but probably exerts its effect on the platelet ADP‐binding sites or on the plasma co‐factor involved in this reaction. Partial separation of the aggregation inhibitor from other active substances in the saliva has been carried out using G‐200 Sephadcx.
