SUMMARY Disseminated warts in six patients were pre‐treated with topical 5‐fluorouracil solution three times daily for 5 consecutive days. Curettage was then carried out under local anaesthesia. During pre‐treatment less than o·I% of the dose applied was absorbed through the skin. The warts had not reappeared in 5 of the 6 patients at follow‐up 1 year later.
