SUMMARY Three children are described in whom painful subcutaneous nodules developed 1–2 years after the injection of adsorbed diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis vaccine. The diagnosis of aluminium hydroxide granuloma was established by ultrastructural examination with X‐ray microanalysis.
