SUMMARY Infection of the finger‐nail of an elderly woman by Pyrenochaeta unguis‐hominis is reported. The small lesion was extending slowly into the healthy nail plate. The fungus has been isolated from diseased toe‐nails on two previous occasions but its extra‐human habitat is unknown.
