Sebaceous gland suppression in female acne patients by combined glucocorticoid‐oestrogen therapy *

SUMMARY Women with severe acne were treated with a combination of oestrogen and a low dose of glucocorticoid daily in order to suppress their androgen production. This combination therapy reduced their sebum production by 50%, with a concomitant improvement in their acne.
