SUMMARY Eight cases of eosinophilic cellulitis are described with acute cutaneous swellings followed by indolent infiltration. The histology is distinctive with focal phagocytosis of eosinophilic material in the dermis. Occasionally these histological features are observed in other inflammatory dermatoses when eosinophils have infiltrated the connective tissue.
