SUMMARY The administration of cyproterone acetate can be effective in the treatment of ‘idiopathic’ hirsutism. In 5 similarly affected patients treated with ethinyloestradiol and lynoestrenol (Minilyn) the rate of hair growth was reduced in only two, even though the serum total testosterone was reduced in each instance.
