Summary.— A chronic and extensive Trichophyton mentagraphytes infection is reported in 3 Capuchin monkeys ( Cebus nigrivitatus ). The animals were severely debilitated from internal parasites, pneumonia and enteritis, which led to their deaths within 2 months of purchase by a zoo. Clinically there was widespread hair loss, with skin scaling and crusting. The histological picture was one of marked hyperkeratosis and peri‐folliculitis. The disease was not transmitted to 5 other healthy monkeys housed in the same enclosure.
