SUMMARY.— The application of a topical anticholinergic agent (poldine methyl ‐methosulphate) to the forehead skin of 10 patients with mild acne vulgaris twice daily for 4 weeks produced a small but significant reduction in sebum excretion. This is compatible with the suggestion that the control of sebum secretion may have a cholinergic component, but the effect is small.
