SUMMARY.— A “linked” assay technique for phosphopyruvate kinase in skin extracts is described. This has been used to confirm the presence of the enzyme in mouse and human skin. The enzyme has been shown to be completely soluble. Its pH dependence has been examined; an optimum was observed at pH 7·0.
