SUMMARY. Eighty‐five attacks of Henoch‐Schönlein purpura involving 75 patients Mere witnessed. Arthritis was present in 74%, abdominal symptoms in 61%, localized oedema in 45% and renal involvement in 47%. This last may be mild, moderate or severe. When severe it may cause death in the acute phase or lead to serious permanent damage. At present it would appear that patients with quite severe diffuse changes frequently respond to high dosage corticosteroid therapy and to immunosuppressive drugs.
