SUMMARY.— A patient with chronic granulomatous lesions and abscesses on the legs is described. From the pus of the abscesses a strictly anaerobic Gram‐positive bacillus with the cultural and biochemical characteristics of Corynebacterium acnes was isolated in a pure culture. The pathogenic role of the organism is discussed.
