SUMMARY. A late summer epidemic of Sindbis infection with exanthem in 1967 is described from Pretoria. Some admixture of West Nile infections occurred at the same time. The history, clinical features, histology, experimental pathology, diagnosis, clinical importance and problems of these arbovirus exanthemata are briefly considered. Arbovirus infections should be considered in future cases of epidemic alopecia areata or epidemic follicular keratosis.
