removal of the colouring matters from petroleum ether extracts by activated charcoal does not appear to influence the removal of the dermatitis-producing factor from the solution by fuller^s earth. The pyrethrin contents of the various preparations show no obvious correlation with irritation, which agrees with the work of Martin and Hester. This may mean that the dermatitis factor is not associated with the p^Tethrin content. The degree of separation of the pyrethrins in the course of the removal of the dermatitis factor is noteworthy, and application of this method to separate the various p3Tethrins is worth consideration.
