. Growth was studied in Arctic charr, Salvelinus alpinus L ., from three differing loch habitats in Scotland. Otoliths were more reliable for age determination than scales. Growth rates were variable both among and within populations. Growth in weight was more variable and appeared to be related to richness of the habitat.
