SUMMARY The circuit construction of a dc electric fishing machine is described which uses one or two 3‐phase electrical generators to cover the range of low to medium water conductivity. These generators were chosen instead of dc generators (which are not so readily available) to allow ac switching of the fishing current and thus maximum life of the safety isolation relays. The control circuitry is both lightweight and durable and requires only a basic knowledge of electronics for its construction.
