Summary Chromosomal assignment of the bovine butyrophilin gene ( BTN ) was performed by analysis of DNA from somatic hybrid cell lines using the polymerase chain reaction. The gene was assigned to bovine chromosome 23 using two sets of primers specific for bovine BTN.
