Summary A new buffer system for acid PAGE typing of protease inhibitor (Pi) is described. This buffer system replaces pyridine and cacodylic acid with L‐histidine and MES, making the buffer less toxic and less expensive than the acid PAGE system commonly used but with no loss of resolution.
