Summary. In German Simmental cattle a new K‐casein variant was detected by isoelectric focusing, which cannot be distinguished from K‐casein A by polyacryla‐mide and starch gel electrophoresis. It was named K‐casein D. The frequencies of K‐casein alleles were K‐Cn A 0.75, K‐Cn B 0.24, K‐Cn D 0.01.
