Summary 132 blood samples and 54 milk samples obtained from Somali camel were analysed for red blood cell antigens with the cattle reagents and for Hb, Ca, X proteins, Tf, Alb, Am, SOD, α‐La, β‐Lg and casein systems respectively. Positive lytic reactions were obtained with the anti‐B, ‐Q, ‐Q, ‐W, ‐F 1 and ‐J reagents. No biochemical polymorphism was observed except for Hb, X protein and β‐Lg systems.
