Summary By means of starch gel electrophoresis the polymorphism of the 6‐phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6PGD) has been found in cattle leucocytes. The phenotypes (A, AB and B) and allele frequencies ( 6PGD A = 0.425; 6PGD B = 0.575) are demonstrated in families of German Friesian cattle.
