Summary Serum alkaline phosphatase inheritance was studied in 126 racing homer pigeons {Columba livid). Discontinuous polyacrylamide electrophoresis was used. Gels were stained with Blue RR salts with alphanaphthyl phosphate as a substrate. Seven pheno‐types were found. Inheritance was postulated to be by four codominant alleles. Gene frequencies were: q.ApA , 0.284; qApB , 0.602; qApC , 0.45; and qApD , 0.68.
