Summary Treatment of postpartum haemorrhage because of uterine atony with intramyometrial prostaglandin E 2 1 mg, in an anaesthetised patient resulted in life‐threatening hypotension. Anaesthetists should be aware of the potential cardiovascular side effects of prostaglandins.
