Summary The management of five patients with phaeochromocytoma undergoing surgical removal is described. Pre‐operative preparation with phenoxybenzamine and nifedipine for 7 days before surgery prevented excessive fluctuations in cardiovascular parameters in the peri‐operative period and resulted in an uneventful recovery.
