The use of a yoke plug is a possible remedy but frequent change of cylinders for yoke plugs is more likely to cause problems than a simple check that the carbon dioxide cylinder is turned off when not in use, and that the carbon dioxide and cyclopropane needle valves arc also off and the bobbins a t rest at the start of every case. Removal of cylinders has certainly been effective in highlighting the problems associated with carbon dioxide, but perhaps the Safety Committee should now reconsider the iic-lvisability of its recommendation.
