Summary The anaesthetic management of a patient with the carcinoid syndrome is reported. Important cardiovascular complications occurred immediately after tracheal intubation and during manipulation of metastases. Hypertensive crises were controlled with intravenous cyproheptadine, although hypotension and drowsiness were observed due to its use.
