Summary A study has been undertaken of a combined thiopentone‐etomidate sequence of anaesthesia for termination of pregnancy. The side‐effects of pain on injection and abnormal movements have been minimised by the technique. The pattern of recovery is satisfactory but the optimum dosage of thiopentone requires further study.
