Summary The anaesthetic management of a patient with pemphigus vulgaris who required eight anaesthetics over a 3‐month period, after sustaining closed fractures of both legs and degloving of one leg is described. The slow intravenous infusion of a ketamine/diazepam mixture and steroid therapy provided excellent peri‐operative conditions, without the need for the introduction of an airway or a tracheal tube.
