Summary A case of general anaesthesia for removal of carcinoid metastases is presented. Evidence of serotonin hypersecretion was shown by raised levels of 5‐hydroxyindoleacetic acid, hypertension and tachycardia. The rarity of osteoblastic carcinoid metastases is discussed.
