ABSTRACT Aims  To review briefly some of the available evidence regarding the utility of contingency management in treating methamphetamine use disorders. Design  A literature review was conducted to locate relevant studies for the review. Findings  The review suggests that contingency management is likely to be a useful component of treatment strategies designed to address methamphetamine use disorders. Results suggest that contingency management can increase the likelihood of providing methamphetamine‐free urine samples during treatment. Conclusions  Evidence suggests that contingency management is a good candidate for inclusion in treatment strategies for methamphetamine addiction.
