Summary A 48‐year‐old male alcoholic developed a transient ischaemic attack shortly after alcohol withdrawal. The attack occurred simultaneously with an increase in platelet aggregability to ADP and thromboxane B 2 formation. It is suggested that the changes in these haemostatic parameters might contribute to the development of transient ischaemic attacks in alcoholics.
