Summary While there are many arguments in favour of improved coordination of services used by people with alcohol‐related problems, several features of present service delivery arrangements may impede efforts in this direction. Mechanisms whereby inter‐service coordination might be enhanced are suggested and a project with a service coordination objective is described.
