A clinical isolate of Staphylococcus aureus resistant to gentamicin, kanamycin and 3′,4′‐dideoxykanamycin B contained two enzymes capable of inactivating gentamicin, i.e., an aminoglycoside 2″‐phosphotransferase and aminoglycoside acetyltransferase.
