A 48‐year‐old house wife developed photo‐onycholysis in all her fingernails. It was not associated with any cutaneous eruption or photosensitivity on other parts of the skin. The patient was not taking any drugs. She has been followed up by the present author for the last 10 years. Every year, onycholysis has begun in May, worsened in July and August, and resolved spontaneously by the beginning of November. These observations strongly suggest the role of sunlight and exclude involvement of any photosensitizing drug in this disorder.
