The presence and distribution of peanut agglutinin (PNA)‐binding sites was studied in normal sebaceous glands, nevus sebaceous, senile sebaceous hyperplasia, sebaceous adenoma, sebaceous epithelioma, and sebaceous carcinoma. Cell surface staining and sponge‐like cytoplasmic staining was observed in sebaceous glands, nevus sebaceus and sebaceous hyperplasia. In sebaceous adenoma, sebaceous epithelioma, and sebaceous carcinoma, diffuse cytoplasmic staining was observed in addition to cell surface staining.
