A 49‐year‐old woman developed a lupus like syndrome with transient positive ANF and persistent leukocytopenia. The causative agent for the development of the disease was thought to be 2‐mercaptopropionylglycine (thiopronine), a drug similar to D‐penicillamine in structure and function. Skin rashes and arthralgia disappeared shortly after the withdrawal of the drug but positive ANF and leukocytopenia persisted for a relatively long period.
