Foul body odour is sometimes caused by a nasal foreign body. When clinical symptoms such as nasal discharge and obstruction coexist, the diagnosis is easy but it is quite difficult when there are no such symptoms, especially in a child who cannot express his distress. We report the case of a girl 2 years 8 months of age who emitted a generalized foul odour, which initially suggested to us a possible defect in her amino acid metabolism, but which finally proved to be a foul odour due to a nasal foreign body.
