HLA‐typing was performed on Japanese patients with dermatitis herpetiformis Duhring (DH). Only one of them showed granular deposition of IgA at dermal papillae whereas the rest showed linear IgA deposition. No statistically significant increase in the incidence of specific HLA antigen was noted. HLA‐B8 was absent in both patients and healthy controls.
