A cofiring process with the addition of carbon fiber was demonstrated successfully to be a new method to fabricate limiting‐current‐type oxygen sensors. Reproducible, limiting‐current behavior was realized in sensors that were made via cofiring. The limiting current was directly proportional to –ln (1 – X O2 ) over an oxygen concentration X O2 range of 0%–25%, and gas diffusion through the hole made by the burnout of the carbon fiber in the sensor was believed to be in the normal diffusion region.
