Barium titanate (BaTiO 3 ) ceramics with high degrees of a‐ and c ‐axis orientation were fabricated by combining hydrothermal synthesis of fibrous particles, formation of green compacts with aligned extruded rods in the mold, and normal sintering. The orientation of crystal axes in such ceramics gives rise to high dielectric permittivity. Ceramics with an orientation degree f =76% showed values of ε/ε 0 which are 1.5 times (ε/ε 0 = 2700) as large as those of a randomly oriented (commercial) ceramic (ε/ε 0 = 1800).
