A new tensile test method has been developed for high‐temperature testing of Al 2 O 3 fibers. The advantage of this technique is that it enables testing of ceramic fibers up to 1500°C while the entire sample, including the grips, is within the hot zone. The most critical stage in the entire testing procedure is the alignment of test specimen with respect to the loading axis. The success rate of this testing method is currently around 60%.
