The microstructure of an epitaxial YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7− x /Pb 0.9 ‐La 0.1 (Zr 0.2 Ti 0.8 ) 0.975 O 3 /YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7− x (YBCO/PLZT/YBCO) heterostructure on [001] LaAlO 3 (LAO) has been investigated by X‐ray diffractometry and transmission electron microscopy. The ferroelectric film is c ‐axis oriented and epitaxial with the underlying YBCO film. The YBCO film, which is b ‐axis oriented, is epitaxial with the LAO substrate and shows two variants.
