Glasses in the calcium alumino/galliosilicate system were prepared. All glasses contained 30 mol% CaO. The density, refractive index, and infrared spectra were measured. These glasses exhibited additive behavior in all properties, which implies that Al and Ga play isostructural roles in the glass network. These results agree with those reported previously for lithium alumino/galliosilicate glasses.
